From Single Asset to Full Factory: N.Light–MetAI Build an End-to-End Digital Twin Pipeline

[Edaily Reporter Shin Young-bin] NdotLight, a 3D AI technology company, is partnering with Taiwan-based industrial digital twin startup MetAI to expand the digital twin ecosystem for Physical AI training.

NdotLight announced on the 4th that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with MetAI to expand the global Physical AI ecosystem.

The two companies plan to build an integrated digital twin pipeline by combining NdotLight’s Sim-Ready 3D data generation engine, TRINIX, with MetAI’s industrial-scale digital twin generation platform, MetGen.

MetAI is a Taiwan-based startup specializing in industrial digital twins and simulation. It is the first Taiwanese startup to receive a direct investment from NVIDIA and is developing technology that uses AI and 3D technologies to rapidly transform industrial environments into Sim-Ready digital twins.

The core of the partnership is to automate the Physical AI workflow, from individual 3D asset generation to the assembly of large-scale industrial environments such as factories, logistics centers, and airports, and ultimately to simulation-based training. Through this collaboration, the two companies aim to reduce the time required to build industrial digital twins in which robots and AI can learn in virtual environments.

NdotLight will provide Sim-Ready asset generation tools and APIs, including CAD-to-USD conversion, parametric asset generation, and automated 3D asset generation based on text and images. MetAI will contribute digital twin infrastructure for generating large-scale scenes such as factories, logistics centers, and airports, as well as AI-ready industrial environment simulations and operational orchestration.

The two companies plan to jointly establish OpenUSD-based asset interoperability, standardized Sim-Ready metadata structures, kinematics and collision mesh compatibility, parametric template workflows, and a scene assembly and orchestration pipeline between MetGen and TRINIX. Integration with NVIDIA Omniverse and NVIDIA Isaac Sim is also included in the scope of the collaboration.

NdotLight also participated in “Physical AI: Builders Night,” a networking event hosted by MetAI in Taiwan on May 31. At the event, NdotLight Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Kim Sun-tae introduced technology for generating and simulating deformable object data, which physically changes shape.

In particular, the company demonstrated technology for simulating how power cables and LAN cables bend and connect within the NVIDIA Isaac Sim environment. The company explained that the technology can reduce the time required to build physical environments for deformable objects, which are particularly challenging to implement in robot training.
